Frequently asked questions
Can't find your answer? Send an enquiry and we will get back to you on our next working day.
Do I need an NDIS plan?
No. We support NDIS participants who self manage or use a plan manager, and families paying privately.
Who started Milestone and Me?
Our founders have spent over 10 years supporting people from infants to mature adults, in special education, on disability camps, in supported independent living and one to one in the community. They match every worker and stay involved with each family.
Will we have the same worker each time?
Yes. That is the heart of how we work. Each person has one main worker and one backup, and you meet both before support starts. If your worker is sick, your backup steps in, not a stranger.
Are you a registered NDIS provider?
Not yet. We are working toward registration with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission. Until then we support self managed and plan managed participants, and we follow the NDIS Code of Conduct.
When are you available?
Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. Weekday evenings may be available by arrangement.
Which areas do you cover?
We are based in Melbourne's north and welcome enquiries from across Melbourne. We talk about travel when we plan your support.
What kinds of activities can we do?
Anything that suits your interests and goals: cafés, shopping, movies, beaches, parks, swimming, museums, community events, concerts, cooking and day trips. You can pick your interests on the enquiry form.
Can you help with transport?
Yes. We can provide transport to appointments, activities and outings. Travel costs are explained in your service agreement before support starts.
What does it cost?
NDIS supports are charged at or below the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits. Private rates, weekend and public holiday rates, travel and cancellation terms are confirmed in writing before any support starts.
How do we get started?
Send an enquiry or call. We have a free meet and greet by phone or in person to talk about your interests and goals. If we are a good fit, everything goes into a written service agreement.
How will we know it is working?
We set one clear goal at a time and write a short note after each session. Each school term you get a one page summary you can take to plan reviews.
What if I need to change or cancel?
Let us know as early as you can. Changes and cancellations follow the terms in your service agreement, which we explain clearly before you sign.
Can family members or support coordinators enquire?
Yes. Parents, carers, support coordinators and plan managers can all enquire on someone's behalf.
How do I give feedback or make a complaint?
Tell us directly and we will respond quickly and fairly. If you are not happy with the outcome, you can contact the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission on 1800 035 544.
